The supernatural drama debuted September 10, 2009 on The CW, running for eight seasons, 171 episodes, through March 10, 2017.
Starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Matthew Davis and more, the series centered on 17-year-old Elena (Dobrev), who was torn between two vampire brothers, good Stefan and the evil Damon, who face new dangers in the town of Mystic Falls.
From it’s success, the popular show spawned two spinoffs – The Originals and Legacies, and there’s even an idea for a fourth series in the TVD universe.
