The Gilded Age Courts Another Series High Audience

The Gilded Age has courted a series high audience.
After debuting Sunday night, the fourth episode of Season 3 accumulated 3.8M U.S. viewers within its first three days of availability, according to Warner Bros. Discovery.
That marks a nearly 41% increase over the Season 3 opener’s 2.7M three-day audience. To that end, Warner Bros. Discovery says that new people continue to discover the series as it reached its highest-ever viewership on the platform based on unique accounts.
Season 3 is currently tracking 20% ahead of last season’s average viewership, the company says. Season 2 ultimately averaged 7.1M U.S. viewers, with its finale posting a three-day high of 3.2M multi-platform viewers.
The Gilded Age, whose cast includes who’s who of the New York theater scene, has come a long way since its inauspicious launch in January 2022 on HBO’s lower profile Monday night. With support by the gay community (as star Carrie Coon recently put it, “The gays saved it”) and strong word of mouth, the drama drew enough audience to earn a second season and has been on an upswing ever since, moving to HBO’s marquee Sunday 9 PM slot with Season 2 and emerging as a major awards contender.
