Shane Gillis Set As Host Of The 2025 ESPYS For ABC & ESPN+

Shane Gillis has been drafted to host the 2025 ESPYS, which will air live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 16.

The award show will air on ABC at 8 p.m. ET and stream live on ESPN+. Following their live broadcast, the ceremony will be made available on demand the next day on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.

“I’m excited to be at The ESPYS this year,” the comedian, actor, and writer said. “I like sports so this should be a good time.”

The ESPYS recognize major sports achievements, remember unforgettable moments, and honor the leading performers and performances.

Craig Lazarus, ESPN Vice President and The ESPYS Executive Producer, said, “Shane is not only one of the top comedians today, but also a huge sports fan, which made him an easy choice to host The ESPYS. We are thrilled to work with him to create an entertaining show celebrating this year’s best moments in sports and are excited to see what he’ll do on stage.”

Gillis is a stand-up comedian who will feel at home in front of a big crowd cracking jokes about the sports world. He is the creator and star of Netflix’s Tires, which premiered its second season this month. Gillis is also the co-host of the comedy podcast Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast alongside fellow comedian Matt McCusker.

Last year’s ESPYS was hosted by tennis champion Serena Williams.

The ESPYS are co-produced by ESPN and Full Day Productions. Connor Schell and Dave Chamberlin executive produce the show for Full Day.
