NRL news 2025 | South Sydney Rabbitohs mascot under investigation; Cronulla Sharks; Shark Park incident

Cronulla and South Sydney are investigating an incident involving South Sydney’s mascot after allegations a nine-year-old was pushed in the face at Shark Park.

The club’s official mascot Charlie Gallico, or “Reggie The Rabbit” as he’s known, was accused of pushing the boy on Saturday, when the Rabbitohs lost to the Sharks, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Sharks and Rabbitohs officials both confirmed they were aware of the incident.

A video posted on TikTok captured an incident where the mascot approaches a young Sharks fan.

“We are investigating what happened and will have no further comment to make until our investigation is complete,” the Rabbitohs said in a statement.

“We have reached out to the boy’s mother to let her know we will be investigating the incident.”

The investigation reportedly started after a social media post from the child’s mother accused Gallico of the assault.

Cronulla were contacted before information was passed on to the Rabbitohs and NRL.

The NRL is making further inquiries.
