Daily Roundup 4/30 – The Valley Ep #3, Why I Have Newfound Respect for Janet, the Bro Group Chat, More 50th BDay News, & Latest BIP News

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Wednesday. Boy, we got a lot to go over today. I’ve got so many thoughts on the Valley from last night. I am thoroughly enjoying this season so far, but I’ve got so many takes on what I saw last night.

Also going to update you on tomorrow’s podcast Guest, a first in reality, Steve Podcast, guest history. Somebody from Joey’s season, Hannah Brown talks about what her role is gonna be on Bachelor in Paradise. One quick update on Bachelor in Paradise, and then I want to talk about a Netflix documentary that I think you should tune into coming out in a couple weeks, and we’ve got to all that momentarily.

Let’s start off talking about the Valley. I’m gonna spend most of today’s podcast talking about the Valley, episode three. So many things. I want to go over here, so I’ve got my notes in front of me. The first thing I wanna talk about is what we kind of started the episode out with, which was Jack’s heading to rehab.

Jack’s was not part of last night’s episode, as you saw, because he had checked himself into rehab. Everybody. There were a lot of people that were skeptical about whether he would not. Go? Or did he actually check in? How long is he going to stay? Now you gotta remember, this was filmed a year ago and we know Jax has only been sober for, I believe, two months, maybe three max.

So if you don’t remember the news back then, Jax ends up leaving this rehab within like a few days. He doesn’t even last. I don’t even think he lasts a week there. It’s very, very short. So we will see him come back to the valley very shortly, maybe by next episode. It wasn’t until recently that he went back into rehab.

So just know that if you do, if you forgot the story from last summer. And plus just hearing Jacks promote this season. He has admitted I’ve only been sober two or three months. Well, this was filmed a year ago. So clearly the rehab that we saw him go to in last night’s episode is not the rehab that he eventually got quote unquote clean in.

I thought Brittany had a great line when she was talking about, look, he’s 45, he’s got a 3-year-old son. Even Jax Taylor has to grow up at some point. Unfortunately, Brittany. I’m sure you know the answer to this. While that seems logical, we’re also talking about Jax Taylor here. It doesn’t sound like he’s grown up based on what she has said post filming.

And did you watch, watch What Crappin Live last night? Yeah. Brittany and Luke were the two guests on Andy’s show last night, and Brittany talked about currently where the relationship stands and you could tell. Andy Flat out asked her, do you think Jax is sober? And Brittany’s answer two different times said, I hope he is, because she’s seeing the behavior of the ups and downs, and that’s the behavior she saw when she knew he was using.

So the fact that she couldn’t say yes, I 100% believe he’s sober. And she’s just saying, I hope he is, for my sake, for my, for our son’s sake. It pretty much tells you that Brittany doesn’t believe he is completely sober. All right. You know my thing with the Valley, I said I’d be stunned if there was any episode this year because I feel like every single episode, at least one of the women in the episode talks about their vagina.

At some point, at some point during the episode, it’s going to happen. Well, last night that word was not uttered, however. I think we can include Nia and Kristen going to Fertility, acupuncture, and Kristen talking about her ovulating and Kristen and Luke talking about their sex life. I think we can count that in there, right?

I mean, if we just said, Hey, at some point during an episode of the Valley drink, when someone talks about their sex life, I mean, that’s a done deal. You’re hammered by the end of the episode because these couples have no problem talking about their sex lives. And I’m sure that’s the same thing that happens on the Housewives shows because I, I don’t watch those, but I’m just amazed at how many of these couples talk about, not just, oh yeah, we have an active sex life.

I mean, they go into detail about it, and I don’t know if I really need to know this about these people, but I’m gonna chalk that up to, we’re now three for three. Yes, the vagina word was not uttered, but. I’m not stunned at all that Kristen was talking about her ovulation cycle and her sex life with Luke.

Here’s something else that I wanna say about last night’s episode. I have a newfound respect for Janet. You might ask why, Steve, do you think she’s coming around as a woman? Not necessarily. Do you think she’s a good mother? I don’t know. I haven’t seen how she’s been as a mother. Do you think she’s turning down the gossip on the show?

Not necessarily. Well, Steve, why do you have a no amount of respect for Janet? Why? Because she holds her fucking birthday at Dave and Busters. That’s why. That is awesome. You know how excited I was to see. Almost a whole episode. The last half of the episode filmed at Dave and Buster’s. Hell, I was there last week.

You saw it on my Instagram story. I love that place. I don’t know if I’d hold my birthday there as a 50-year-old, but she’s not 50, obviously, but you know what I’m saying. I don’t know if I would have an adult birthday there. I think I had one birthday there probably in my late twenties, maybe early thirties.

So I’m right there with you, Janet. I’m all about planning my day at Dave and Buster’s. I want to eat something first. The thing is, I don’t need to scope out the games. I’ve been there so many times. I know what the high ticket games are there. Now, the difference between me and Janet is she actually cares about those prizes in the prize store.

I don’t give a shit about ’em. They all suck. I mean, there’s some really good, you know, Xbox and, but 25,000 tickets please. You have to go there three or four times, five times to go there and you’re probably gonna spend, end up spending way more money than actually just buying an Xbox yourself because you never know how much you’re getting outta these games unless she has mastered the high ticket games.

And maybe she has considering the way she talks about it. But for me, the tickets go to my niece and nephew. I. Maybe I’ll get like a candy when I on my way out, but I’ve never, I can’t think of anything that I’ve actually bought in that store. ’cause it’s all for kids. I don’t need anything in that store.

But, hey, I am team Janet now, and I’m not talking about anything regarding the show and who she gossips about and who she talks shit about. Whatever. I’m team Janet when it comes to where she chooses to go for her birthday, because I am Team Dave and Busters all the way. Not that I really need to point this out to people.

I think some people I probably do, but we all know this is a reality show and every single scene that you see is basically manufactured by producers. And the other thing that we notice that is very lacking in continuity. Is the confessionals where we see them sitting on a couch. Because one of the perfect examples last night that I immediately noticed was Luke was talking to Danny and Danny was asking him about a proposal.

At the same time, they were flipping back and forth between Nia and Kristen at the fertility acupuncture and Chris and Nia was asking her about, Hey, what about marriage between you two? Is that coming up? And look, we’ve already seen in the previous, we know that Luke proposes to her later on this season, but.

When Danny and Luke were talking about it, Danny was asking how long you guys been dating? About two years. Hey, when when’s it coming? When are you gonna propose? And then he, and then Luke tells Danny, the first person he tells I’m looking into proposals and I’m looking into doing this. What was interesting is in that scene, which I believe was in Danny’s kitchen.

Yeah, it was at Danny’s place. Danny and Nita’s place. ’cause the kids were there at the time of that. Luke has a very short beard. He’s got a beard, but it’s trimmed pretty tight, and then they immediately go to him sitting on the couch. In a confessional and his beard is so much longer, so clearly he probably filmed that after the season talking about, and look, it happens all the time.

It happens on the Bachelor, on the Bachelorette. You just need to really pay attention. Now, I, I’ll just take, for example, let’s just take last season for example, and let’s just take Grant and Juliana, I’m just talking about a regular, let’s just, I don’t even remember their dates, but let’s just take a grant and Juliana date.

Yeah, and Grant and Juliana, let’s just say Juliana on their one-on-one date was wearing a, I Love New York shirt. I’m just making all this up. But to show an example, so Juliana has goes on a date with Grant and she has an I Love New York shirt on, and then I. Let’s say they’re outside at a park and then we see a one-on-one of Juliana in a confessional or an ITM with a producer, and she’s got that I love New York shirt on.

Well, that means during that date they pulled her aside to get her quote unquote in the moment. Talk about this in the moment, but you also might see during the course of that date, maybe Juliana back inside somewhere. Filming an ITM in that same, I love New York shirt. Now that particular ITM could have been filmed later on that night.

It could have been before they left for the date, or it could have been done in a pickup where it was in another city. They had already moved on, but they wanted to get something out of her. So they said, put your I Love New York shirt back on and do it. So the only time you can take for sure 100% when somebody said it in that moment, on the same day.

Is when like on the Bachelor, on the Bachelorette, they’re out somewhere and they just pull them to the side and you can see the location of where they’re at. But anytime they shoot an ITM inside with a backdrop that they set up with a candle and a, and flowers and stuff like that, you just never know if it’s exactly the same day.

Could have been before the date or after the date, or it could have been at a completely different date with. A show like this, I think every single one of those confessionals is filmed long after the season ends. I don’t think they film anything that same day. The other reason is a lot of ’em were wearing the same clothes all season long in those confessionals.

That’s how you know they went back and shot all those confessionals after the season was already over, and it was just a way to build their narrative and their storylines.
