Gracie Abrams new album The Secret of Us is about to arrive and it features the new single “Close to You,” which almost didn’t make it on the album!
The 24-year-old singer explained why she ultimately decided to include the song on the album.
“i wrote Close To You seven years ago and we made a demo that i posted 20 seconds of and you somehow cared about it enough for us to revisit the song seven years later,” Gracie wrote on Instagram.
She continued, “Close To You was not initially a part of TSOU — it’s from a different time entirely, we had finished the whole record top to bottom, but i heard you loud and clear. consider this one a bonus track pre-deluxe?? with everyone getting their vinyls this week, i got impatient and wanted you all to have it early. or seven years late, actually.”

The Secret of Us is being released on June 21 and features the song “Us” with Taylor Swift.
Gracie sings on the track, “I burn for you / And you don’t even know my name / If you asked me to / I’d give up everything / To be close to you / Pull the trigger on the gun I gave you when we met / I wanna be close to you / Break my heart and start a fire, you got me overnight / Just let me be.”
