Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal rushed to hospital after feeling chest pain on field

Tamim Iqbal was playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club in Dhaka Premer League.

Former Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal was urgently taken to the hospital after experiencing chest pain during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) 2025 match. The incident occurred during the game between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club on March 24 at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No. 3 Ground in Savar.

Match-day incident

Tamim participated in the toss before the match but started feeling discomfort while fielding during Shinepukur’s innings. A medical team quickly attended to him, and preparations to airlift him were made. However, due to his critical condition, Tamim was not able to board the helicopter and was instead transported to Fazilatunnesa Hospital by other means.

Tariqul Islam, an official from Mohammedan Sporting Club, stated, “Tamim is currently hospitalised, and his condition was not good enough for him to be airlifted to Dhaka.” The cricket community is closely monitoring Tamim’s health, hoping for a swift recovery.

Tamim Iqbal’s professional career

Tamim Iqbal is a famous cricket player from Bangladesh who played in all formats for the country. In Test matches, he made 5134 runs in 70 games. In ODIs, he scored 8357 runs in 243 games. He also did well in T20I matches, scoring 1758 runs in 78 games. Tamim’s last game for Bangladesh was an ODI against New Zealand on September 23, 2023. People know him for his attacking batting style, and he is very important in Bangladesh cricket history.
