‘We had no choice but to care for him ourselves’: Strangers rescue a scruffy kitten in an abandoned warehouse, bottle-feed him, love him back to life, and give him a furever home across the world
The Cat Distribution System strikes again, and this time it brought a little orange scruffball named Scotch-Brite into the spotlight. While working in another country, a kind-hearted rescuer came across a weak and weary kitten in an abandoned warehouse. He was so exhausted he used what little energy he had to walk up and collapse at their feet.Â
With no vet around and no access to proper cat food, the team got creative. They nursed him back to health with fresh goat milk, feeding him with a syringe until he could handle tiny bites of chicken on his own. In just a couple of weeks, he went from frail fluff to fiery feline, full of life and sass.
When it came time to leave, the choice was clear. Scotchy wasn’t just a stray anymore. He was family. After a lot of effort (and more than a few meowntains to climb), they brought him home. Today, he’s living the good life alongside another rescue cat, proving that the CDS never misses. Two rescues later, this once dog-only household is now happily ruled by whiskers and purrs.
