J.D. Vance is officially Donald Trump‘s Vice Presidential pick.
The former President of the United States made his selection for his vice presidential running mate on Monday (July 15).
Trump announced the news on Truth Social, writing: “After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio.”

“J.D. honorably served our Country in the Marine Corps, graduated from Ohio State University in two years, Summa Cum Laude, and is a Yale Law School Graduate, where he was Editor of The Yale Law Journal, and President of the Yale Law Veterans Association.”

Born in Middletown, Ohio, he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2022 and sworn into office in January of 2023.
Hillbilly Elegy was released in 2020, directed by Ron Howard and based on J.D.‘s 2016 memoir. It stars Gabriel Basso as J.D. Vance.
