When New Line Film Is Coming To Max
New Line‘s horror thriller Companion, starring Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) and Jack Quaid (The Boys), will begin streaming globally on Max on Friday, April 18, debuting on HBO linear on Saturday, April 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
In Companion, written and directed by Drew Hancock (My Dead Ex), Thatcher plays Iris, who joins her boyfriend Josh (Quaid) and friends at a remote lake house, only to discover that she’s actually an AI “companion.” We won’t reveal more than that, except to say that Iris doesn’t take the revelation lightly.
The film also stars Lukas Gage (Smile 2), Megan Suri (Never Have I Ever), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), and Rupert Friend (Asteroid City). From the producers of horror hit Barbarian — Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Zach Cregger and Roy Lee — its executive producers are Tracy Rosenblum and Jamie Buckner.
