At the end of When Calls the Heart Season 12 Episode 10, Faith delivered the devastating news that Little Jack had juvenile diabetes. As mentioned, insulin was used for the first time in 1922, so there was no cure back then.
Spoilers for When Calls the Heart Season 12 Episode 11 indicate that Elizabeth and Nathan care for Little Jack together, while Mei and Faith research if Little Jack qualifies for an insulin trial.

Elizabeth Deals With Little Jack’s Heartbreaking Diagnosis
Having diabetes as a young child is rough because they don’t understand why they can’t have dessert or an extra helping of supper.
Having diabetes in 1922 took it even further since doctors were only beginning to test out insulin. There was no cure, and treatment was risky.
I love that When Calls the Heart Season 12 stays historically accurate since insulin was first tried on a teenager in 1922.
That has to be the revolutionary treatment Mei refers to since it hadn’t been tested on young children yet.
What a horrible choice for Elizabeth to make. Choose a treatment with side effects that could help her son’s life, or he could die.
I wouldn’t wish that on any mother, praying that a doctor accepts her plea to save her son’s life.
Elizabeth already lost Jack. It seems cruel to put their son in danger. How much grief should she go through?
I know this story will be emotional, and the cast will slay it, but I hate that Little Jack has to suffer.
Hope Valley Rallies to Support Elizabeth and Little Jack
Elizabeth has been part of When Calls the Heart and Hope Valley since it premiered, so everyone will rush to support her. That’s the beauty of this series – it’s community-focused.
This will be the most we’ve seen of Faith as she and Mei rush to find a treatment for Little Jack.
Faith has known Elizabeth for years, and Lily is the same age as Little Jack. As a doctor and a mom, Faith will be heartbroken.
It’s another reason Mei wants to help get the medication and help her friends.
The weekly promo shows some heartfelt scenes of Rosemary and Bill supporting their friends. Elizabeth will need Rosemary’s strength to get through this ordeal.
While Little Jack isn’t Nathan’s son, he’s cared about him for years and has strived to protect him and Elizabeth.
He feels helpless, as do many people when a loved one falls ill.
That’s an interesting perspective to give a strong, stoic character like Nathan, and those scenes between him and Bill make me cry.
It means so much that Joseph tells Elizabeth that she’s not alone as she copes with this, whether she needs a friend, prayers, or a shoulder to cry on.
Everyone cares about Little Jack, and hopefully, we’ll see Lucas’s reaction, too, since he and Little Jack were good buddies for years.
This would be an ideal opportunity to use him well.
The Kids Broadcast a Baseball Game to Lift Everyone’s Spirits
Rosemary’s radio show may prove helpful again.
Jack loves baseball more than anything, so the kids broadcast a game over the radio to cheer him up.
While he won’t be there to play with him, they’ll play a game in his honor, which is such a sweet idea.
The spoiler photos hint that the Hope Valley residents combine a prayer service and ball game, sending their best to Elizabeth and her son.
It’s not often that older children enjoy playing ball with younger ones, but these boys really care about Jack.
He’ll hear that over the radio, boosting his spirits.
Sometimes, love is the extra medicine needed for healing, so hearing his friends and having his own glove passed down from Nathan may be the added boost he needs.
Many of the spoiler photos show hope and love, so we’re reasonably sure Little Jack will make it.
The Tragedy Brings Allie and Oliver Closer Together
There is nothing like a crisis to bring people together, and the many spoiler photos suggest that Allie and Oliver worry together about their young friend.
Allie has always considered Little Jack like a kid brother, so she’ll likely be devastated by this diagnosis, and even Oliver has become fond of him rather quickly.
Oliver may comfort Allie as they wait for updates on Jack, and they’ll likely attend the baseball game together.
Oliver has become such a comforting fixture in Allie’s life, and I’m curious if this crisis will move their relationship to the next level.
Sometimes, a quick hug can move to a comforting kiss, and Allie has waited a long time for the right person.
While it may be tactless to discuss this, many couples begin by coming together during a crisis. It’s a popular trope.
