ICC Champions Trophy semifinalists decided, India’s opponent yet to be confirmed
Three of the four semifinalists were confirmed, and after this match, the final one has been decided as well.
The four semifinalists of the ICC Champions Trophy have been confirmed. From Group A, India and New Zealand had already qualified after Pakistan and Bangladesh lost their first two fixtures. In Group B, until yesterday, two teams were still fighting for a spot. England had already been knocked out, and Australia secured their semifinal spot after their match against Afghanistan was washed out.
South Africa confirmed as 4th semifinalist
Having restricted England to just 179 runs, South Africa has confirmed their place as well. As a result, Afghanistan, who needed England to perform a 207-run victory miracle, has been eliminated. However, we still don’t know who’ll face who in the two semifinals of the ICC Champions Trophy.
Who will India face in ICC Champions Trophy semifinal 1?
As per the ICC Champions Trophy format, A1 will play B2, and B1 will play A2. The first semifinal will be played in Dubai, and depending on where the India cricket team finishes, their opponent will be decided. If Team India beats New Zealand in the last group stage fixture, they’ll be B2, and if they lose, they’ll face B1.
