Colin O’Brien, ‘The Monkey’ Star, Signs With Luber Roklin Entertainment

EXCLUSIVE: Colin O’Brien, one of the young stars of Neon’s horror film The Monkey from Longlegs helmer Osgood Perkins, has signed with Luber Roklin Entertainment for management.

In the film, released February 21, O’Brien plays Petey, the son of Hal, who along with his twin brother Bill, experiences myriad horrors after rediscovering their father’s old toy monkey in the attic. An adaptation of Stephen King’s short story from 1980, the flick has him sharing the screen with Theo James, who plays both twins, as well as Elijah Wood and Tatiana Maslany. To date grossing over $68 million worldwide, The Monkey brought Neon its second biggest weekend box office opening to date, on the heels of Longlegs, at $14.2 million.

Prior to The Monkey, O’Brien broke out while playing the title role in Jason Katims’ Apple TV+ series Dear Edward, opposite Connie Britton and Taylor Schilling. His character in the Ann Napolitano novel adaptation is a 12-year-old boy who becomes the lone survivor of a plane crash, surviving his entire family.

Previously, O’Brien has also been seen playing a Young Willy Wonka, a younger version of Timothée Chalamet, in the Warner Bros. hit Wonka, opposite Sally Hawkins. Other feature credits include the Netflix films Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, opposite Donald Sutherland, and The Mothership, opposite Halle Berry. Television credits include CBS’s S.W.A.T. and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy.

O’Brien continues to be represented by Innovative Artists, Skrzyniarz & Mallean, and Platform Public Relations.
