Ullmark not feeling well, Ersson to start in net for Sweden vs. USA
All three Swedish netminders will have gotten in some international reps when the 4 Nations Face-Off round-robin wraps up.
Ullmark stepped in for Team Sweden in Saturday’s overtime loss to Finland, replacing the country’s original starter, Filip Gustavsson, in the second period.
The Ottawa Senators goalie made 15 saves on 17 shots in the loss.
Ersson, 25, has served as the Philadelphia Flyers’ starting goaltender this season, posting a 16-10-3 record with two shutouts, a 2.81 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage.
With Canada beating Finland earlier Monday, the Swedes were officially eliminated from contention for the 4 Nations final.
With a date against Canada set in stone, the Americans will start backup goaltender Jake Oettinger against Sweden.
You can catch the last game of the 4 Nations Face-Off round-robin on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
