Thunder book spot in NBA Cup Finals with win over Rockets

The Thunder will play Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in the second annual NBA Cup Finals on Tuesday.

A pair of Canadians — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort — stood out on both ends of the floor for Oklahoma City. Gilgeous-Alexander had 30 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals and Dort finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.

Standout sophomore Amen Thompson led the Rockets in scoring with 19 points and added seven rebounds. Another Canadian, Dillon Brooks, had 14 points.

The game was a defensive grudge match and the score was 42-41 for Houston at halftime. The Rockets held the Thunder to their lowest first-half scoring total of the season, but Oklahoma City eventually separated themselves with a 13-3 run in the fourth.
