While you may not want to think about Christmas yet, Tesco is already firmly focused on the festive season – but it’s doing things a little differently this year.
The UK’s largest supermarket chain has launched its Christmas range and while it’s packed full of yuletide favourites, it’s also clear that buyers were keen to branch out.
Of Tesco’s 250 new Christmas products, the stand-out items can mostly be found in the ‘Party Food and Cheese’ category.
Shoppers entertaining friends and family can this year impress guests with Baja Fish Tacos with Yuzu Cabbage Slaw and Tomato, Pineapple & Chilli Salsa (£5.50) or Mini Nduja Wellingtons with a Hot Honey Drizzle (£5.50).
The Baja Fish Tacos are made of crispy battered fish paired with a tangy yuzu cabbage slaw and a tomato, pineapple and chilli salsa while the Nduja Wellingtons combine British pork shoulder and fiery nduja.

Breige Donaghy, Tesco Director or Product Development & Innovation, said ‘We know our customers have a list of festive favourites which will be returning to the shelves but there are also a host of exciting additions that will impress any guest.’
And, alongside traditional festive desserts such as panettone and Christmas pudding, there are more interesting items like a Raspberry & Prosecco Panna Cotta Wreath and a Belgian Chocolate & Sea Salted Caramel Snowy Semi Freddo.
The Panna Cotta Wreath is infused with Madagascan vanilla and Italian Prosecco while the Semi Freddo is made using British whipping cream and mascarpone cheese.
It is filled with a layer of bittersweet Belgian chocolate sauce and slow baked chocolate meringue.
Other tasty items included in the supermarket’s 2024 range are the Dim Sum Selection (4.50) and the Mushroom Steamed Buns (£4.50).
Party food and desserts aside, Tesco’s Christmas collection features a number of best-loved items, from the Turkey Christmas Dinner Sandwich and the Free Range East Anglian Gold Whole Turkey to the Roasting Carrots Clementine & Honey Glaze and the Pigs in Blankets.
With six varieties of mince pies and two types of Christmas pudding, the supermarket’s new range will equally appeal to those who prefer a more traditional take on Christmas.
The British Free Range Easy Carve Turkey with Pork, Cranberry & Chestnut Stuffing will no doubt be a bestseller while the Scottish Salmon Plait is bound to please those who prefer seafood.

The new 2024 festive range also includes a wide variety of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Popular tipples such as English Sparkling Wine, Premier Cru Rose Champagne Brut and Elderflower Spritz feature alongside alcohol-free versions of classic cocktails like Pina Colada and Mojito.
Tesco is just as eager to please its vegetarian and vegan customers this Christmas and has come up with a number of new takes on traditional items.
The supermarket’s Butternut Wellington will make an attractive and tasty veggie centrepiece while the Plant Chef Christmas Veg Fest Wrap is an excellent option for those who want to enjoy some Christmas cheer while on the go.
Those who avoid gluten will be happy to hear that Tesco has added festive treats to its Free From range.
The Free From Honeycomb Bauble and the Free From Almond & Orange Mincemeat Slices are both made with a gluten free pastry base.
While Tesco is best known for its food and drink offerings, the supermarket chain also has decorations and homeware covered, helping customers to create perfect Christmas displays at home.
Fun Christmas tree decorations include an Abominable Snowman Stocking and an Abominable Snowman Bauble Assortment.
Abominable Snowman Christmas crackers are also available, as are Grinch decorations and ‘Merry Christmas’ signs.
Tesco’s F&F range has also had a festive makeover with Christmas tree-shaped serving plates and green and gold tableware on sale.
The Tesco Christmas range will be available online and in stores from September, with selected centrepieces launching in November and December.
