‘Succession,’ ‘Veep’ Alums Cast in Erin Foster Netflix Series

Erin Foster‘s untitled upcoming Netflix comedy series has added 10 new actors to its cast, Variety has learned exclusively.

Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons will appear in series regular roles opposite previously announced stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody.

In addition, Jackie Tohn, Michael Hitchcock, Paul Ben-Victor, Sherry Cola, Shiloh Bearman, Stephanie Faracy, Tania Raymonde, and Tovah Feldshuh have all been cast in recurring guest star roles.

The official logline for the series states it is “centered on the unlikely relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman, Joanne (Bell), and an unconventional rabbi, Noah (Brody).”

Lupe will star as Morgan, described as Joanne’s “charming-yet-cutting, quick-witted sister who doesn’t feel the need to strive for more than she already has – which happens to be a hit podcast with her sibling, built around their buzzy banter and ride-or-die commitment to being alone together.”

Simons will play Sasha, said to be Noah’s “outlandish, eccentric, delusionally confident older brother who loves living vicariously through his ‘golden child’ sibling.”

Lupe most recently starred in the Emmy-winning HBO drama series “Succession,” on which she played Willa throughout the show’s run. She is also known for her roles in shows “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Mr. Mercedes.” Simons is best known for playing Noah on the hit HBO comedy “Veep,” likewise throughout the show’s run at the premium cabler. He also recently appeared in the film “Candy Cane Lane” opposite Eddie Murphy as well as “Don’t Worry Darling.”

Full character descriptions for the recurring guest star roles can be found below.

Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of the half-hour series. Foster created the series and serves as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Craig DiGregorio. Bell also executive produces along with Steven Levitan, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk and Jeff Morton. Oly Obst is an executive producer on behalf of 3 Arts Entertainment. 20th Television will produce in association with Steven Levitan Productions, with the company currently under an overall deal at the studio.

Recurring Guest Stars:

Jackie Tohn (GLOW, Old Dads, Gen V) as “Esther” – Sasha’s wife and Noah’s sister-in-law, who doesn’t suffer fools.

Paul Ben-Victor (Pam & Tommy, The Irishman) plays “Ilan” – Noah’s father, who also acts as his moral compass.

Sherry Cola (Good Trouble, Joy Ride) plays “Ashley” – Joanne’s lesbian, no-nonsense best friend.

Shiloh Bearman (Home Economics) plays Miriam – Sasha and Esther’s earnest teen daughter.

Stephanie Faracy (Uncoupled, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates) plays “Lynn” – Joanne and Morgan’s recently-divorced mother with a New Age propensity for the mystical.

Tania Raymonde (Goliath, Lost) plays “Rebecca” – Noah’s “perfect” Jewish girlfriend who has done “everything right” to get him to propose.

Tovah Feldshuh (The Walking Dead, Funny Girl) plays “Bina” – Noah’s coldly aloof mother, a woman for whom family is everything.
