Srikkanth blasts Sanju Samson for poor performance in IND vs ENG T20Is
Sanju Samson managed just 51 runs in 5 T20I matches against England
Sanju Samson’s recent performance in the IND vs ENG T20I series has raised numerous questions. The star batter has managed to score just 51 runs in 5 innings much to the disappointment of everyone. Former BCCI chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth too was disappointed saying Samson is currently going on an ego trip.
Sanju Samson was dismissed 5 times in his attempt to play the short ball, where he gave away poor catches. Samson headed into the series on the back of three brilliant T20I tons, which he hammered against Bangladesh and South Africa. But the 5-match series against England showcased Samson has failed terribly.
Krish Srikkanth slams Sanju Samson
Srikkanth has been disappointed with the Kerala batter for having executed 5 pull shots which led to his dismissal. He further claimed that the batter was determined in his mind to prove that he could play the shot.
“Sanju Samson seems to have missed the bus. For the fifth time, getting out in the same manner. He has played a similar shot. I think he is trying to show his ego. He is trying to say ‘no, no, I will play this shot’. Is he going on an ego trip or struggling? I am not sure,” Srikkanth said.

While Sanju Samson has performed well in the past, Srikkanth is worried that Samson is not consistent enough. He even argued that if Samson plans on playing like this it could be bye-bye for him from T20Is. In the meantime, Samson has suffered a finger fracture and is set to be sidelined for a month.
“It’s very sad. I am disappointed. We spoke about why he was not picked in the Champions Trophy squad. If he continues playing like this, let’s say thank you, sorry, Yashasvi Jaiswal is back. In the next T20I match, Yashasvi automatically comes in, in my opinion,” Srikkanth concluded.
