A complete team performance from India Women saw then brush aside England Women in the first IND-W vs ENG-W T20I at Trent Bridge. Batting first, captain Smriti Mandhana scored her maiden T20I ton to power the visitors to 210. In response, the hosts crumbled to 113 all out, with a 4-wicket haul for Shree Charani on debut.

IND-W vs ENG-W: Captain Smriti Mandhana leads the way
Deputising for Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana put in a career best performance at Trent Bridge. After being put into bat, Mandhana set the tone early with some fluent drives. Shafali Verma struggled and was eventually dismissed for a 22-ball 20. However, it had no bearing on her skipper who continued in her merry way to bring up her 31st T20i fifty.
Mandhana found able company in Harleen Deol who played uber aggressively. Deol and Smriti stitched a 94-run partnership in just 45 balls to keep India Women on the hunt for a 200+ score. Mandhana meanwhile reached her maiden T20I century off just 51 balls. She became the first Indian Woman to score a century in all formats of the game.
She eventually was dismissed for 112, but India Women posted a commanding 210. Lauren Bell was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, picking up 3/27. Sophie Ecclestone, the No.1 bowler, was taken to the cleaners, conceding 43 in her 3 overs.

In response, England Women lost wickets at regular intervals. Amanjot Kaur struck in the first over to send Sophie Dunkley packing, while Danni Wyatt-Hodge was dismissed for a duck by Deepti Sharma. Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt looked in omnionous form, but lacked support from the other end.
She managed to score a half-century, but was among the only 3 players to reach double figures. On debut, Shree Charani ran throgh the middle order and tail. The 20-year-old finished with figures of 4/12 in 3.5 overs. with the wickets of Alice Capsey and Nat Sciver-Brunt.
