Kanye West Drops Surprise Yeezy Commercial During Super Bowl
Kanye West continued his streak of controversy with a brand new Super Bowl commercial.
The “Gold Digger” rapper appeared in a 30-second spot for his clothing and shoe brand Yeezy that aired during the big game Feb. 9. While it didn’t air nationally, the commercial was at least seen in one major market, Los Angeles, per Variety.
In the ad, Kanye lays back in what appears to be a dentist’s chair wearing glasses, a hoodie and a blue blanket pulled up to his chin.
“So what’s up, guys, I spent, like, all the money for the commercial on these new teeth,” he explains in the clip while flashing his grills. “So once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Um… um… um… go to yeezy.com.”
The commercial then cut to a white screen with black text that says “GO TO YEEZY.COM” in big text, underneath which it says, “PAID FOR BY YEEZY LLC.”
At the time the commercial aired, the website for Kanye’s brand populated just one product: A white t-shirt with a black swastika on it.
