Tyler Myers is headed back to Vancouver.
The veteran defenceman and the Canucks have agreed to a three-year deal with a $3-million annual-average value, the team announced Thursday.
The 34-year-old had spent the last five seasons on the Vancouver blueline after signing with the team as a free agent in 2019.
Myers has played 15 total seasons in the NHL, spending time with the Canucks, Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres.
In the 2023-24 regular season, Myers scored five goals and registered 29 points for Vancouver’s Pacific Division-winning squad. He averaged just under 19 minutes of ice time per game, was a plus-16, racked up 110 hits and blocked 136 shots.
Myers played in all 12 of the Canucks’ playoff games, his seventh trip to the post-season, registering one assist, 26 blocks and 40 hits in 19 minutes and 30 seconds of ice time per game.
Originally selected 12th overall by the Sabres in the 2008 draft, Myers won the 2009-10 Calder Trophy and received votes for the Norris Trophy in his rookie season.
