Rugby Australia new 2025, Nine, Stan Sport announce broadcast rights deal extension

Nine and Stan Sport will remain the home of rugby in Australia for years to come after announcing an extension to their landmark deal.

Rugby Australia and Nine unveiled the multi-year extension on Wednesday morning which runs through to 2030.

It means fans will continue watching rugby on Nine, 9Now, and Stan Sport and will be able to access content through digital, publishing, and audio assets.

Stan Sport airs every game of the Super Rugby Pacific season as well as international fixtures.

Nine will also continue to air all Wallabies and Wallaroos home games, and all Bledisloe Cup games live and free.

The deal also includes the new Nations Cup.

Rugby Australia first struck the deal with Nine and Stan Sport in 2020 and the code has seen viewership grow year on year.

“Today’s announcement reinforces Nine’s position as the home of Australia’s biggest sporting moments – bringing unrivalled entertainment, access and reach to fans, and the strongest and most effective partnership for premier sporting bodies that delivers like no other Australian media organisation can,” Nine CEO Matt Stanton said.

“We know there is no better combination than the 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport to grow a sport’s popularity and deepen its connection with its fan base.

Super Rugby Pacific, Super Rugby Women’s, and key Rugby Australia Test matches will be aired on Nine, 9Now and Stan Sport as part of the deal.
