The southpaw has done the unthinkable in his very first Test match after a horrific car crash that left him sidelined for over a year. Pant turned back the clock to display his prowess with his trademark shots which included launching maximums with one-hand and down on one leg.

Rishabh Pant took on the Bangladesh bowlers in a spectacular fashion in his first Test after 630+ days. He capitalized on his bright start in the 2nd innings, managing to convert his half-century to a hundred in no time. Pant struck 11 fours and 4 sixes en route to the triple-figure mark. He made the most of the opportunity after he was dropped by Shanto on 72. Pant’s century in Chennai is his 6th Test match hundred.

Earlier in the 1st innings, Pant missed out on a well-deserved half-century as he was sent packing for 39 runs by Hasan Mahmud. However, the southpaw did not let that repeat in the 2nd innings. Coming into bat along with Shubman Gill after India’s top three batters failed, Pant held his fort to end Day 2 on a high note for India.
He commenced play on Day 3 and wasted no time in reaching his half-century. While it looked like Pant was going slow initially, he switched gears as the play neared lunch and started to deal in boundaries.
