Report: Diamondbacks acquiring reliever A.J. Puk from Marlins

The Arizona Diamondbacks are making a move ahead of next week’s MLB trade deadline.

According to multiple reports, the Diamondbacks are acquiring left-handed reliever A.J. Puk in a trade with the Miami Marlins.

Puk, 29, has a 4.30 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 32 games this season.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that infield prospect Deyvison De Los Santos and outfield prospect Andrew Pintar will go back to Miami in the deal. De Los Santos is No. 14 and Pintar is No. 30 on Arizona’s prospect rankings according to MLB Pipeline.

The Diamondbacks have been one of the hotter teams in the majors over the last month and are one of six teams battling for the three wild card spots in the NL. In July, Arizona is 12-7 and for the season it is now 53-50.
