Dandelion’ Unveils Amazon Premiere Date, Trailer
EXCLUSIVE: Amazon announced this morning that David Spade: Dandelion — its first comedy special from Spade, and Spade’s first since 2022 — will premiere on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on May 6.
Directed by Spade, the special offers up some of his signature sardonic takes on the perils of flying, charity auctions, the evolution of porn, and more. Spade also produced alongside Marc Gurvitz, Alex Murray, and John Irwin. Watch a trailer above.
An Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated alum of Saturday Night Live, Spade has previously released three comedy specials, including Nothing Personal (2022) via Netflix, My Fake Problems (2014) via Comedy Central, and Take the Hit (1998) via HBO. Most recently, he’s been seen on his I Got A Feel For It stand-up tour, also teaming with Theo Von on Busboys, a buddy comedy the pair wrote together, in which they star.
Previously seen in comedy classics like Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, The Emperor’s New Groove, Joe Dirt, and the sitcom Just Shoot Me!, Spade also recently signed on to star opposite Brooke Shields in Fox sitcom Almost Paradise, as we reported. Along with fellow SNL alum Dana Carvey, he currently co-hosts popular comedy podcast Fly on the Wal — which premiered at #1 in the comedy category and in the top five overall on Apple’s podcast chart and won Best Comedy Podcast of 2024 at the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards — as well as spin-off pop culture podcast Superfly. Guests on the former have included Sir Paul McCartney, Lorne Michaels, Jimmy Fallon, Martin Short, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Molly Shannon, and Tom Hanks, to name just a few.
Spade is represented by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
