Good meowrning, everyone! We’ve always been adamant that all fluffy felines deserve love—no exceptions. That includes special kitties who may be disabled or have unique challenges. Thankfully, kindhearted humans around the world make endless efforts to rescue abandoned felines in need, and for that, our faith in humanity is slightly restored.

Today, we’re shining our fabulous ICanHasCheezburger spotlight on the awwmazing recovery of a sweet feline affectionately named Deluca by the human who rescued him. The kindhearted rescuer recounts the long and difficult journey they’ve had together. Deluca had absolutely been through the wringer when the original poster (OP) found him. He was suffering from infections in his ears, urine, and eyes, severe dehydration, and blood in his bladder. His spine was broken, along with some ribs. It was as if someone had hit him with their car and just driven off—without a care in the world.

People like that infuriate us. We can’t wrap our heads around the kind of cruelty it takes to leave a helpless animal alone to suffer. But the one bright spot in this heartbreaking story is that Deluca was nursed back to health—and, thanks to his rescuer, he found the most purrfect forever home, where he’ll live out his days peacefully, loved, and well cared for.
