Old Titles are the Best Titles… Even If the Movie Sucks

There’s something undeniably cool about the fonts and text design from older, often low-budget films. Before everything became sleek, modern, and overproduced, movie titles had personality – bold colors, funky typography, and layouts that felt handmade in the best way. (Most grindhouse-style film had their font hand painted onto a piece of glass that was then put in front of the film and layered over.)

Whether it was a horror flick with drippy, blood-red lettering or a grindhouse action film with chunky, block, in-your-face type fonts. These fonts didn’t just introduce the movie, they set the tone!

So let’s take a trip back to a time when the typefaces were wild, designs were daring, and title sequences had way more soul than they probably should have.
