Just under a year ago, it was announced that a sequel to Spaceballs was in development. At that time, all we knew was that the sequel would be directed Josh Greenbaum, who is mostly famous for working on some TV shows and directing the modern cult classic comedy Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. We also knew that the screenplay was being written by Josh Gad, alongside writers Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez.
It was also assumed that Josh Gad would star in the film and that Mel Brooks would be involved as a producer, but that was it. Any other details were a matter of total speculation.
Until today, because alongside a teaser we’ll get to later, Deadline reported a bombshell: Rick Moranis will be returning to play Dark Helmet.
