More stars join Comic Relief night : News 2024 : Chortle : The UK Comedy Guide

Sketches with Julia Roberts, Olivia Colman, Kate Winset and more

The BBC has announced a new raft of stars taking part in tonight’s Red Nose Day fundraising show.

Julia Roberts, Olivia Colman, Hugh Grant and Liam Neeson are to appear in a sketch arguing who is the most famous.

Kate Winslet offers an adult version of the CBeebies Bedtime Story strand, reading Adam Mansbach  Fuck, Now There Are Two of You.

And Jamie Dornan revives his character of Elliott Stanley from The Tourist – facing a grilling from Clive Myrie in the iconic Mastermind chair, but unable to remember anything.

In his final year presenting the Comic Relief telethon, Sir Lenny Henry offers his take on a certain Oscar-nominated song, retitling it I’m Just Len, following Ryan Gosling’s similar performance at the Academy Awards  this week.

As previously announced, Suranne Jones, Jonathan Bailey, Catherine Tate, Iain Stirling, Kiell Smith-Bynoe and Sally Phillips are among the cast for a sketch imagining a movie version of The Traitors.

The W1A cast reunite in a bid to find Sir Lenny’s replacement, while North Norfolk Digital’s most prolific radio host, Alan Partridge will be back, joined by Sidekick Simon (Tim Key).

Music over the night will be provided by McFly, Jerub, Jack Black and Paloma Faith.

The BBC has also released this image of the night’s presenters – Sir Lenny, Joel Dommett, Davina McCall, Paddy McGuinness, Romesh Ranganathan, David Tennant, Maya Jama and Rosie Ramsey–  inspired by the Dune artwork.
