Maple Leafs’ Connor Dewar day-to-day with upper-body injury, out vs. Blue Jackets
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be shorthanded as they look to build on their three-game win streak.
Forward Connor Dewar has been listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury and is set to miss Wednesday’s clash against the Columbus Blue Jackets, head coach Craig Berube told reporters after practice on Tuesday, per David Alter of The Hockey News.
Berube also announced that forward Max Pacioretty, who is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury, will miss the outing against the Blue Jackets.
Dewar, 25, suited up for Toronto’s 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night but logged only 5:10 of ice time. He remains goalless in 29 games this season but has three assists, all while adding 78 hits, fifth among Toronto forwards.
Pacioretty, 36, missed Monday’s game against the Lightning with an upper-body injury. He appeared to suffer the injury in Saturday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens after taking a puck to the side of the head.
In 32 games with the Leafs this season, the veteran forward has five goals and seven assists. He has previously missed time this season with a lower-body injury.
Additionally, Berube said that goaltender Joseph Woll did not practise on Tuesday due to maintenance. He remains projected to start Wednesday’s game against the Blue Jackets.
The Maple Leafs have dealt with a bevy of injuries this season but remain atop the Atlantic Division with a 30-16-2 record.
