Lonely lynx kitten gets paired up with a fearless calico cat, they immediately bond and become inseparable: ‘Within a few days, they were chasing each other around like old friends’

Everyone talks about how dogs are man’s best friend and how cats are just arrogant, uncaring creatures, and we don’t understand why. It’s as if these people have never been chosen by a cat before. That is the only explanation, and that is simply sad. Getting chosen by a cat is one of the most amazing things that could ever happen to anyone. It’s an honor. A cat’s love has to be earned, that is true, but once you have it, it is one of the most beautiful things in the world. 

Cats can choose all kinds of creatures as their companions, not just humans. We have seen cats become best friends with dogs, despite their differences. We have seen cats be friends with birds, in spite of the dynamic that they should have. And today, we have seen something absolutely meowgical. We have seen a little calico cat become the best companion ever to an adorable lynx cub who really, really needed a friend. It’s a good thing that this kitty was fierce enough to stand up to her new friend, and no, we’re not talking about the calico.
