Live updates: Trump headlines final day of RNC

The Republican National Convention rolls into its final day Thursday in Milwaukee, culminating in former President Trump’s speech accepting his party’s nomination as the 2024 presidential nominee.

The convention’s first three days, held in the shadow of an assassination attempt on Trump, have sought to showcase unity and enthusiasm around Trump’s third White House run. Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (D-Ohio), gave his first remarks to the convention Wednesday night, offering his view of where the party, and the country, needs to go.

While Trump’s family has been omnipresent, two people who have not been seen in Milwaukee so far are former first lady Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump. Both are expected to be there Thursday night.

The GOP gathering takes place at a time the Democratic Party remains in a heightened state of disarray, with President Biden hunkered down fighting COVID in Delaware and high-level party officials reportedly urging him to drop his 2024 candidacy.
