Lacey Chabert is speaking out in response to ageism in Hollywood amid claims that she is ageing out of Hallmark Channel.
The 42-year-old actress is considered to be the queen of Hallmark, but a recent lawsuit filed against the network claimed that she’s considered to be “old talent.”
Hallmark responded by saying that she will always “have a home at Hallmark. We do not generally comment on pending litigation. And while we deny these outrageous allegations, we are not going to discuss an employment relationship in the media.”
Now, Lacey is speaking out.

“I think it’s important that we have the opportunity to tell all of our stories through every phase of life,” Lacey told Variety about ageism. “I have so much that I hope to share with my audience. Now I’m a mother, and it’s the experience of raising a daughter. It’s so important to me to portray characters that she, as a younger generation, can also look up to and learn from. And with everything I do, I try to put as much of my authentic heart into it as I can.”
Lacey no longer has an exclusive contract with Hallmark and she has an exciting Netflix movie being released this weekend, in addition to her projects with Hallmark.
