Krispy Kreme Teams Up With Barbie for New Doughnuts

As the saying goes, the devil works hard, but Krispy Kreme works harder (or at least we think it’s something like that).

On Tuesday, the doughnut shop announced it’s entering into yet another awesome partnership, which means we’re all getting more limited-time treats.

This time, Krispy Kreme is “making an iconic flavor statement” alongside Barbie to celebrate the toy brand’s 65th anniversary. That statement includes four all-new doughnuts that come with both unique flavors and designs for a total sensory experience.

“We’re excited to celebrate the Barbie brand’s 65th birthday with a collaboration that’s full of fun and flavor,” Dave Skena, the global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme, shared in the announcement. “We’re bringing Barbie’s iconic fashions to life through delicious doughnuts that are sure to thrill Barbie and Krispy Kreme fans alike.”

Starting today, fans of both doughnuts and toys can snag the new flavors at participating Krispy Kreme shops. Here’s what you can expect with each flavor.

The Barbie Pink Doughnut

According to Krispy Kreme, this one is “inspired by Barbie’s iconic pink and popism.” It’s made with an Original Glazed base and piped with pink buttercream before being topped with sparkly pink sugar and a pair of edible Barbie sunglasses.

Malibu Dream Party Doughnut

This one, Krispy Kreme said, is “inspired by the fun and fashion of the Barbie DreamHouse,” and once again comes with that unglazed shell doughnut, but this time is filled with Cake Batter Kreme, dipped in Malibu blue icing and sparkly graham sand, and topped with a Barbie DreamHouse piece.

Barbie Berries ’n Kreme Doughnut

The Barbie Berries Doughnut is “as sweet as Barbie herself,” according to the brand. It too begins with an unglazed shell doughnut and is filled with Strawberry Kreme, dipped in white icing, drizzled with purple and pink buttercream, and topped with a Barbie heart.

Barbie Sweet 65th Doughnut

This Original Glazed Doughnut keeps things relatively simple. It’s dipped in chocolate icing and topped with Barbie Sweet 65th sprinkles, keeping things subtle for a doll that’s been anything but for more than six decades.

“Barbie and Krispy Kreme are two brands that immediately spark joy and elicit sweet memories,” Meredith Norrie, the vice president of global licensing and consumer products at Mattel, added. “As we continue to celebrate Barbie’s 65th anniversary this year, Krispy Kreme is the perfect partner to join us, inviting fans across generations to enjoy the perfect blend of flavor and style, with nods to Barbie sprinkled into every bite.”

Fans can get the doughnuts as individual treats or in a Krispy Kreme six-pack. But hurry. Barbie is going to turn 66 soon, and there likely won’t be any special doughnuts for that.
