Veteran actor Peter Krause has had quite an illustrious television career.
Not many actors can say that they’ve been on different hit television shows for three straight decades, but Mr. Krause can.
These shows weren’t just hits, but career-defining in many ways.
Krause’s career has seen him lead one of the most revered shows of all time and co-lead one of the most successful procedurals of the last few years, and he’s shown no signs of slowing down.
While we may not know what’s next for the actor, we know where he’s been.
And we’re taking a look back at some of his greatest hits!
Sports Night
Many people were first introduced to Krause as a leading man in Sports Night, an Aaron Sorkin comedy-drama that debuted in the late 1990s.
Sports Night played like a SportsCenter parody, but it took itself more seriously than a straight parody type of show.
Krause played Casey McCall, one of the anchors of the daily sports show. His character was more straight-laced and easily rattled, in contrast to Josh Charles’ Dan Rydell, the other anchor.
Even though Sports Night never took off while it was on the air, it has become a bit of a cult classic. People recognize its genius now, as it was one of the best dramedies of its time.
Krause proved himself to be a capable leading man and someone well-equipped to lead a series, something he would go on to do numerous times after the series ended after two seasons.

Six Feet Under
When the always interesting “What is the best HBO series of all time?” debate comes up, Six Feet Under is often in at least the top three. And for some, it’s one of the best series ever, no matter the network.
The writing and acting on the series were some of the best you’ll ever see on television, and Krause’s portrayal of Nate Fisher, eldest son of the Fisher siblings, is the performance of a lifetime.
Krause is magnetic as the somewhat adrift son, whose life radically changes after his father’s death, which leads to him committing to a new life alongside his siblings, as well as volatile relationships and health woes.
Krause was nominated for multiple awards for the role, and even with time, the series holds up as one of the best.
With this particular series, Krause cemented himself as the kind of actor you can build a whole series around.

Dirty Sexy Money
And then there’s Dirty Sexy Money. It was an entertaining show with a hell of a cast, but much like Sports Night before it, it struggled to find an audience.
Coming out of Six Feet Under, Nick George was a far departure from Nate Fisher, though both men had complicated father-son dynamics that informed much of their character.
The ABC sudser was a good time, and Krause looked like he was having a good time in the role, which was a primetime soap opera at its core.
It was sometimes absurd, then wildly serious, and everything in between. Krause was excellent, as he usually is, as George struggled with his morals, got in over his head, and tried to keep his head above water.
It’s an underrated series, and Krause is sublime in it.

Parenthood
A gem of a show, Parenthood never quite got the ratings it should have, but was a critical darling.
The show was This is Us before This is Us, meaning it was a tearjerking family drama that consistently delivered powerful performances and tugged at your heartstrings.
Adam Braverman was the oldest of the Braverman children and a devoted son, father, and husband. He constantly found himself being pulled in a million different directions as he tried to be all things to everyone and was constantly overwhelmed.
The series gave a very real look into family, both the good and the bad parts, as siblings fought, marriages broke apart, and parents got older.
The series amassed over 100 episodes in its six-season run and is still looked upon now as a beautiful look into the complexities of the familial ties that bind us all.

The Catch
Everyone knows Shonda Rhimes has had quite a run on ABC, and her baby, Grey’s Anatomy, is still going strong.
But Shondaland tried its hand at a comedy-drama revolving around a private investigator, the always illuminating Mirielle Enos, whose fiancé, the ever-charming Krause, turned out to be a master con artist!
The series wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was fun. Coming off the heels of Parenthood and Six Feet Under, it was a totally different role for Krause, one in which he got to be a bit more mysterious and the antagonist in a way we hadn’t seen from him.
The chemistry between Enos and Krause was probably the best part of the short-lived theory, but it was still a fun show that was a nice departure for Krause after the heaviness of his previous series.

9-1-1
Listen, we’re still REELING from the death of Bobby Nash during 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 15, and it’s going to take us a long time to get over it.
Bobby Nash was very much the heart and soul of 118, the firehouse at the center of the ABC procedural, and for seven seasons and fifteen episodes, he was such a vital part of the show’s fabric.
Bobby was one-half of an iconic ship, loved by many, and a beautiful example of second-chance love later in life. He was a fatherly and brotherly figure to his crew, who often went to him for advice as they valued his opinion so heavily.
9-1-1 can be outlandish and larger-than-life to a ridiculous level sometimes, but Krause always kept the show grounded. He played Bobby with such ease and relatability that it endeared him to audiences for years.
Krause has such an impressive resume, but there’s a reason why the role of Bobby Nash will go down as one of his most memorable.
