Kody Brown wouldn’t know accountability if it hit him in the face.
We are just two episodes into the One-on-One special, and so far, it’s all been blame-shifting and a lack of self-awareness.
There is no longer a plural marriage, which means it’s time to cancel Sister Wives and move on.
If Christine, Janelle, and Meri were given a spin-off, TLC would likely earn a significant amount of money from the ratings.
We want to see what happens with the women.
However, we don’t care about Kody and Robyn Brown.
He is living in an alternate reality and accepting no blame for the ending of his marriages.
Kody Brown Lacks Self-Awareness
After only two of the four episodes of the One-on-One special, Kody Brown has done nothing to help his case.
Instead, he continues to blame the wives who walked away. Some of that has hurt the ladies, especially regarding his put-downs.
When host Sukanya Krishnan put Kody in the hot seat, he acted like a child. He said he didn’t have to answer anything and wanted to shut her down.
He was juvenile in the most ridiculous ways when answering questions or attempting to skirt the issue.
At one point, Sukanya asked whether they were having a staring contest, as Kody opted not to discuss the situation between him and Christine in more depth.
Kody did not take responsibility for the family’s problems, how it fell apart, or his blatant favoritism of Robyn.
Robyn Is Kody’s Favorite
Anyone with eyes can see that from very early on, Kody Brown was more interested in Robyn than the three wives he had for years.
Meri, Christine, and Janelle had all worked out the plural marriage situation. They were comfortable with the family unit and attempted to welcome Robyn in.
However, as time progressed, Kody neglected his other wives in favor of Robyn and the children they share.
Things deteriorated when COVID-19 rules were implemented, and some of Kody’s children, specifically Garrison and Gabriel, failed to comply with them.
From there, everything went downhill, and that’s how things stand as they do now.
Christine, Janelle, and Meri have all walked away from Kody, and he is now in a monogamous relationship with Robyn.
He addressed some comments about his relationship with Robyn, going to great lengths to justify why certain things happened.
Kody denies the women’s claims about Robyn. He acts as if things were bad because of what his wives said or did, rather than because of his own actions.
Despite Sukanya’s attempts to get him to accept responsibility for anything that went wrong or for his actions in certain situations, Kody didn’t.
There was a bit of accountability for a split second, but then he walked it back almost immediately.
It’s almost as if admitting to anything would shatter the alternate reality he lives in with Robyn.
He thinks we villainized him, but the truth is that he did it to himself.
Actions without accountability are just motions, and Kody Brown is just going through the motions.
TLC should cut its losses and let Kody and Robyn ride off into the sunset.
Let’s keep the conversation going — it’s the only way the good stuff survives.
