Jax Taylor Reveals That He’s Been Diagnosed With Bipolar Disorder And PTSD
Jax Taylor is finally getting to the bottom of some of the challenges that have plagued him for a long time.
As you’ll no doubt recall, the Vanderpump Rules alum checked into an inpatient facility earlier this summer to receive mental health treatment, and he stayed there for about 30 days. And now, in a new Instagram post published to his page on Monday morning, he just revealed to the world the shocking results of that time under observation and care.

According to Brittany Cartwright‘s estranged husband himself, he has been diagnosed with both bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In this new IG post, Jax laid it all out there in very stark and simple terms:
“A little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself. After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD.”
Wow.
He continued on by admitting that it’s “a lot to process,” and alluded to the context of this diagnosis coming out now — amid his ongoing divorce from Brittany — as it being “an emotional time.” Also referencing the estranged co-parents’ son Cruz, he explained:
“It’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however I’ve come home to my son with a new found sense of peace. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday. Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it.”
And he tried to cap things in a positive way by thanking his fans, followers, and supporters for reaching out and being helpful and responsive during his time of need:
“Thank you everyone who has reached out in support and who also shared their own personal struggles with me. Your messages have helped me more than you know.”

Obviously, we continue to send our love and light to Jax, Brittany, and Cruz as they all try to navigate so many adversities and stressors being thrown their way in recent months. Amid the couple’s divorce, and especially after these diagnoses, we wish them nothing but the best all around.
