A celebration of life for Jason Constantine, the longtime Lionsgate executive who died last month of cancer at 55, is set for August 12. The service is open to the public and will begin at 10 a.m. at at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood.
The event will honor, recognize and pay tribute to Constantine’s life, his influence among his colleagues and his devotion to his family, as well as capture the profound influence he had on screens around the world, organizers said.
Constantine was a beloved figure at Lionsgate, having been at executive there for more than a quarter-century. He started at the company not long after its inception as a director of acquisitions at Lionsgate’s predecessor Trimark Pictures. The California native rose to President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions in 2008 before being named Co-Chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
During his tenure, Lionsgate launched the billion-dollar franchises John Wick and Saw, among many other hit films.
In lieu of flowers, the Constantine family requests that donations in his memory to help fund the brain cancer research conducted by his neurosurgeons at Stanford (link here) or UCLA (link here) .
