‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Glenn Howerton Refuses to Address Dennis Reynolds’ Worst Crimes

Dennis Reynolds’ penchant for identity theft, cult leading, pick-up artistry, proclamations of golden godliness and untethered, boundless rage may make him a certified sociopath, but the reality of The Gang’s resident Five-Star Man might be a whole lot darker, according to Glenn Howerton.
During It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s 20-year anniversary celebration last night, Howerton refused to mince words about his longtime character, hinting that Dennis, much like the name of his Season 12 mockumentary, just might have the makings of a murderer — or something along those lines.
“I don’t wanna fill in the blanks for people necessarily, but I mean if you’re just asking me personally, I think we’re dealing with a very sad and delusional man,” Howerton told the audience at L.A.’s Paley Center for Media when asked about the worse crimes his character has committed off-screen.
Don’t Miss
Citing Dennis’ proclivity for “clinging to any sort of power that he can possibly have,” doing “whatever it takes to achieve” superiority, Howerton started to speculate on his famously icy character’s actual misdeeds. “I don’t think that, well…” he began, only to be interrupted by his co-star, Rob Mac.
“I’m gonna advise my client to stop talking,” Mac blurted out, sparking a laugh from the audience — and a change of strategy from his pal.
“I don’t answer questions,” Howerton joked back.
And so, we have no choice but to take a page from Dennis’ book. After all, an implication is worth 1,000 words.
