Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson Tease ‘Golden Bachelor’ Twist to Season 17 of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’
Frank Reynolds already has his magnum condoms and wad of hundreds. Now he’s ready to plow deep into love as the latest Golden Bachelor.

Before Wednesday’s trailer for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s 17th season confirmed that the Wolf Cola mogul would spearhead the ABC series at some point during its eight-episode run, Rob McElhenney asked fans to accept a rose — and a hint at what one of the sitcom’s new installments may have in store.
Don’t Miss
“Tomorrow,” the FXX star captioned a photo of a golden rose, a symbol synonymous with the 60-plus dating show, to his Instagram Story on Tuesday.
Sparking shock and excitement among fans — “WHAT THE FUCK,” one captioned a screengrab of McElhenney’s story on Twitter — both Kaitlin Olson and the Always Sunny official Instagram page offered some clarifications on the cryptic post.
“I’m too young to accept this rose,” she captioned her repost of McElhenney’s story, while the series confirmed that Frank, in fact, would be offering roses as the Golden Bachelor’s leading hunk.

“Will Frank find love this season?” they wrote alongside a snap of Paddy’s toupee-clad trash man, before paraphrasing the ABC drama’s signature tease. “Stay tuned for the most dramatic season of Sunny yet…”

The upcoming episode, rumored to be titled “The Golden Bachelor Live,” per a leak earlier this year, isn’t the first time that Always Sunny has collaborated with an ABC staple. Before tapping Golden Bachelor host Jesse Palmer to help Frank prove “It’s never too late to fall in love… again,” to quote the series’ tagline, The Gang visited Abbott Elementary back in January. The second installment of their collaboration, “The Gang F***s Up Abbott Elementary,” will serve as the Season 17 premiere.
Until then, we can only hope that Frank finds his other half — or at least enjoys his brief sabbatical away from bangin’ hoors.
