ICC T20 World Cup: IPL 2024 Schedule released, India Cricket Team squad to depart for USA during IPL 2024 playoffs
While the Indian players are focused on IPL 2024, Team India on the other hand have turned their attention to the ICC T20 World Cup. The remainder of the IPL 2024 schedule has been released. But with T20 World Cup fast approaching, the India squad will depart for USA during the IPL 2024 Playoffs.
A total of 4 teams will make it to the IPL Playoffs. However, the players of the Indian squad of the remaining 6 teams will travel to USA for the upcoming mega tournament. On the other hand, the players playing the knockouts will travel after the IPL final to USA.
The Indian contingent doesn’t have much time to lose. The ICC T20 World Cup begins on 2nd June. And ahead of the tournament, the teams are slated to play 2 ICC Warmup matches with their full squad. As a result, the remainder of the India squad is likely to depart for USA on 27th or 28th May.
Team India to Travel ahead of IPL 2024 Playoffs
The IPL playoffs start on 20th May with Qualifier 1. On the other hand, the IPL Final will be held on 26th May at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. There is also a reserve day in case the final is washed off.
The India squad announcement for the T20 World Cup will take place during IPL 2024. This means the players will know before hand who are selected for the mega tournament. Once the group stage concludes, the first batch of players will depart for USA. And the remainder will follow suit after the IPL 2024 final.
India will take on Ireland for their opening game of the T20 World Cup on 5th June. The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match will take place on 9th June, in New York.
