‘I Would Be So Honored’

SZA would love to revisit her on-screen other half in a sequel to One of Them Days, but would co-star Keke Palmer?

The rapper and singer recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! amid promoting her forthcoming co-headlining stadium tour, the Grand National Tour, with Super Bowl collaborator Kendrick Lamar, which kicks off April 19 in Minneapolis, Minn. and lasts through Aug. 9.

When asked by host Jimmy Kimmel if the film’s creative team was already brainstorming a follow-up, the LANA songwriter initially balked before playfully adding, “Keke’s tired of me. She’s gotta be.”

The Grammy winner continued, “But she’s chock-full of energy. I would be so honored to be involved in anything that they did again. I would just literally just try way harder knowing what’s at stake; people will be watching, and I can play into that.”

The R-rated buddy comedy with heart features Palmer and SZA as two opposites who attract — respectively Type A and Type B roommates whose time to recoup their rent money, after the latter’s no-good beau steals it, dwindles precipitously in inverse proportion to their hijinks.

Written by Insecure and Rap Sh!t scribe Syreeta Singleton and directed by Lawrence Lamont, the project was produced by Issa Rae. A success at the box office, One of Them Days is still showing in theaters since its Jan. 17 release date. The film marked SZA’s entry into the acting sphere, following her acquaintance with Palmer during their respective musical guest and hosting gigs for Saturday Night Live in 2022.
