The Hurricanes signed Ryan Suzuki and agreed to terms with Ronan Seeley to one-year, two-way contracts, the team announced.
Ryan Suzuki, brother of Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki, will continue his run with the Hurricanes at a $775,000 average annual value at the NHL level. The six-foot-two forward played most of the 2024-25 season with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves where he led the team with 59 points and 47 assists.
Suzuki has 230 career games in the AHL, recording 145 points (51 goals, 94 assists). The London, Ont. native also represented Canada at the IIHF Under-18 World Championship and the 2021 World Juniors.
Ronan Seeley is another investment from the Wolves. The 22-year-old blue-liner agreed to terms on a similar contract with a $775,000 average annual value at the NHL level.
Seeley played the 2024-25 season with the Wolves serving as an alternate captain. He has played in 197 career AHL games, registering nine goals, 40 assists and 49 points.
The Yellowknife native represented Canada at the 2022 World Junior Championship where he registered four points and won the gold medal.
Seeley was selected in the seventh round (208th overall) of the 2020 Draft by Carolina. Ryan Suzuki was selected in the first round (28th overall) of the 2019 Draft and made his NHL Debut on Jan. 30 against the Chicago Blackhawks.
