Serena Williams is grand slamming her way onto streaming this week with a new docuseries premiering on ESPN+ on Wednesday night.

“In The Arena: Serena Williams,” a new eight-part miniseries chronicling the tennis legend’s long career, will arrive on the streamer on July 10 at 9 p.m. ET.

With a longstanding career in the world of tennis spanning over the past two decades, Williams has accumulated 23 Grand Slam titles, making her one of the most decorated tennis players of all time. Her dominance in the sport has undoubtedly shifted both the athletic and cultural American landscape. 

Williams’ presence not only as an athlete but a cultural cornerstone will be put on display in the eight-part docuseries, which will highlight some of Williams’ most defining career and personal moments with accounts from Williams and other figures in her life.

The multi-part series follows ESPN’s Emmy-winning “Man in the Arena: Tom Brady. It’s also an example of how media companies are putting a new focus on female sports, hoping that these games can draw bigger crowds – and the money that would presumably come with them. The program is backed by Morgan Stanley,  which serves as a presenting sponsor of the series, and TJ Maxx and Heineken, which have come on board as associate sponsors.
