8 Years Later, There’s Only One Way Pretty Little Liars Can Return
Pretty Little Liars debuted 15 years ago, and we still aren’t over it.
Its run ended eight years ago, but we want more.
An update about where the Liars are would be fantastic.
However, as ratings have proven, spin-offs aren’t where it’s at.
Even the mimic shows haven’t satisfied fans.
However, a movie or a limited mini-series could do the trick.

Pretty Little Liars Should Return With a Made-For-TV Movie
Listen, I know what you’re thinking — how could this work? But, hear me out.
It’s been eight years since the Liars went their separate ways.
However, an update could draw in new viewers and get the long-term fans (like us!) excited again.
Budgets are a big deal, with TV series cutting production costs using alternatives.
However, a multi-part made-for-TV movie could do the trick.
A similar event happened with Gilmore Girls, revitalizing the fandom and generating even more buzz.

There could be standalone episodes for all the Liars, giving Freeform at least five parts. Of course, we would want an update on Mona, too, but focusing on the core five might be the only way to go.
Surely Mona could be sprinkled into the episodes.
What Updates Would We Want To See?
When Pretty Little Liars ended and the Liars were building their lives, the door was left open for an update.

And while we did hear that Spencer and Toby eloped on the spin-off, we haven’t seen the Liars together in almost a decade.
What would Spencer and Toby’s lives look like now? Would they have children?
Hanna revealed she was pregnant. What does mom life look like for her?
Speaking of mom life, how are Emily and Alison raising their girls? After all, that was one of the inappropriate storylines we discussed as we looked back at the Pretty Little Liars storylines from years ago.
Aria and Ezra (another super inappropriate storyline!) married and headed to their honeymoon. Did they stick it out?
There are so many possibilities the writers could explore.
With reboots and spin-offs being all the rage right now, why can’t Pretty Little Liars get a little love, too?

Exposing a New Generation to Pretty Little Liars
It could open the world of Rosewood to another generation of fans.
If the original fans were in their 20s (like me!) when they watched the show and became obsessed, they likely have children in their preteen and teen years.
Shockingly, there isn’t a bigger deal happening for the 15th anniversary of the show airing.

Pretty Little Liars appeals to the young adult audience, and even the original viewers still fondly remember the storylines and the creepy and crazy happenings in Rosewood.
Getting the Liars to sign on might be a challenge, especially because they are experiencing different things in their lives.
Maybe if enough of us chime in and share our enthusiasm for more from the Liars and their lives after turmoil in Rosewood, someone would step up and pitch a project to have the Liars return one last time.
Love this show? We do too — and we want to keep writing about it.
Your comment or share can help make sure we get to. That’s the magic of supporting indie media.
