‘Harry Potter’ Star Emma Watson Banned From Driving For Speeding

Emma Watson won’t be getting behind the wheel of a car anytime soon after being banned from driving in the UK for six months, per multiple reports.

The actress, best known for her work in Harry Potter and Beauty and the Beast, drove an Audi at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford during an outing in July 2024.

Watson has been banned from driving after accumulating more than nine penalty points on her driving license. High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court also ordered her to pay a fine of £1,044 ($1,405).

According to BBC News, Watson’s attorney, Mark Haslam, told High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court that his client was “in a position to pay the fine.”

The 35-year-old did not attend the short hearing. She is currently studying as a student at the University of Oxford, taking a break from her acting career. Her rep has been contacted.

In a strange twist, Watson’s Harry Potter co-star Zoë Wanamaker was also banned from driving by the same court on the same day.

The actress, who played Madam Hooch, was caught driving at 46mph in a 40mph zone last August. She was also fined £1,044 and will be prevented from driving for six months.
