The Dragons have pushed their way back into the top eight, with a bye to come.

Christian Tuipulotu revealed the team took to the field with a clear understanding of what was needed to push them inside the eight.

“It was a massive game for us, especially going into the back end of the season,” Tuipulotu said after the game.

“Going into the bye we needed those two points so we can hopefully make it to the finals.”

“It was a very good first half. I’m disappointed with the way we went in the second half but at the end of the day two points is two points,” Jaydn Su’a added.

“We stuck to the plan and we got a few tries which ultimately gave us the win at the end of the day.”

Su’a admitted he was hurt to be snubbed by Billy Slater for the Origin decider, claiming he returned to the field in bid to make a statement.

“I was very disappointed at the start of the week. I had a few days too sook over it but when I got back to club land the boys got me back into it.

“It’s really disappointing the way we let it slip in the second half. I’m not looking forward to going into the sheds in a few minutes.”

With Ben Hunt absent from the line, Kyle Flanagan took over the playmaking duties.

The halfback declared his disappointment in various decisions that allowed the Broncos to close the margin drastically.

“We know how close the top eight is and we knew how important this game was to help us,” he said.

“I know the coach will be disappointed that we let them score a few tries there. Looking back as a part of the spine, we probably should’ve shut that down a bit earlier.”
