‘Saint-Pierre’ Season 2 Starts Filming, Gets First-Look Image

EXCLUSIVE: Shooting has begun on Season 2 of Canadian cop drama Saint-Pierre and here’s a first-look image from the set.

Hawco Productions started filming the second run of the CBC original series this week on location in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, France. It will also film in St. John’s Newfoundland.

The police procedural is from Hawco Productions for CBC and CBC Gem in association with Fifth Season, which handles global distribution.

Season 2 will premiere on CBC and CBC Gem in winter 2026 and include two more episodes than in its first season. We revealed news of the second run, along with several other CBC renewals last month.

The breakout show was CBC’s number one most-watched new series of the year and among the top Canadian drama series nationwide, per Numeris TV Meter figures and CBC’s own analysis.

The series is set in Saint-Pierre, the French Territory nestled in the Atlantic Ocean that’s known as one of the most remote locations in the world, only accessible via a 90-minute ferry from a nearby island or a nine-hour flight from Paris. Deadline wrote that it “grabs the award for the cop show in the most remote location” when we featured it in our MIPCOM Hot Ones back in October, as Fifth Season took it out to market.

The show follows Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector, Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick, who digs too deeply into a local politician’s nefarious activity, and is exiled to work in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon. His arrival disrupts the life of Deputy Chief Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault, a Parisian transplant who is in Saint-Pierre for her own intriguing reasons. Although the islands seem like a quaint tourist destination, the idyllic façade conceals a hive of criminal activity.

Allan Hawco, Robina Lord-Stafford and Perry Chafe created the show, with Hawco and Lord-Stafford as showrunners. French star Josephine Jobert (Death in Paradise) and Canada’s Hawco (Republic of Doyle, Caught) lead the cast playing Arch and Fitz, with James Purefoy (Rome, Sex Education), Benz Antoine (Four Brothers, Get Rich or Die Tryin’), Erika Prevost (The Boys, Dare Me) and Jean-Michel Le Gal (Paris Paris, Accused) rounding out the team.

Exec producers are Janine Squires, Erin Sullivan, Robina Lord-Stafford, John Vatcher and Hawco.
