“I stopped talking bad about myself, to myself,” she explained. “Whenever I’m like, ‘I am ugly, I am stupid,’ I will actively try to stop saying those things about myself, because as funny and silly as it can be, it really does affect how you view yourself.”
Instead, the trans activist tells herself affirmations like “I am a prize, I am special.”
“It really boosts your mood,” she shared. “Because even if you don’t feel pretty or super smart or you feel dull that day, it retrains your mind, because every day is a new start. We are in control of what our day is going to be, so it helps.”
