First title for RCB? Glenn Maxwell smashes 5th T20I ton in AUS vs WI T20s just before IPL 2024

Despite joining the franchise in 2021, Maxwell is their 5th highest run scorer and has the highest strike rate for any RCB batter with more than 100 runs.

What a great six months Glenn Maxwell has had in the international arena! After scoring the fastest 100 and first 200 while chasing in the ODI World Cup, the aggressive Australian batter has smashed his 5th T20I century.

The 360-degree batter entered the middle at 57/2 and was at his best throughout the innings. He scored his record-tying 5th ton in just 50 balls and showcased what’s about to come in the next month when he plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2024 season.

In an inning filled with reverse scoops and ramps, Glenn Maxwell showcased his full arsenal of shots. If the batter can do this at the big Adelaide Oval, one can expect what the batter might do when he takes the field at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

And it’s not like this is Maxwell’s first great inning in a long while. The batter has been enjoying a hot streak in international cricket. In his last 9 innings, he has scored: 106, 41, 201, 1, 2, 12, 104, 10, 120.

Maxwell has been a revelation for the RCB since he joined the franchise in 2021. Since then, he has become the franchise’s 5th highest run scorer and has the best strike rate for any batter with over 100 runs. His recent run bodes well for the RCB as they look for their maiden title in IPL 2024.
